Given the financial realities when cash assistance for resettlement ends, many newcomers have already or will need to take on subsistence level jobs in the short-term. In parallel, we work with newcomers to pursue educational and career opportunities that align with their professional backgrounds and skill sets. We are hopeful about the opportunities available: there are some 5.5 million job openings in our key cities in industries like finance, information technology, healthcare, logistics, and operations.
As we continue this work, we need you: to volunteer with our job seekers, to provide financial support by donating to our Haven Fund, and by supporting passing the Afghan Adjustment Act (AAA), which was recently introduced with bipartisan support in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
